I make things for the web.

Hi, I'm Max. Two-ish years of building web apps, and I care about the unglamorous parts: load times, empty states, and naming things properly. Still working on that last one though.

01about

For the past two years I've been building web apps the whole way through: the interface, the API and the database behind it. My favourite work sits where design meets engineering, like getting a page to load in half the time or rewriting an error message so it actually helps.

I took the long way here. Before development I worked with people. Adults fighting addiction, teenagers on their way into crime and drugs, and for a while at a school. That work taught me more about communication than any course has, and it still shows in how I build things.

When I'm not head deep in VS Code I game, spend time with the family, and slowly lose the fight against my Steam backlog.

Frontend-developer / Digital Designer · Stampen Media [INTERNSHIP]

Internship at the media group behind Göteborgs-Posten. I built internal tools for the newsroom's digital designers, including GP StoryLab and GP Karta, from first sketch to deployed app.

Frontend Developer · degree

A two-year frontend program. React, TypeScript and a lot of building actual apps, finished off with the internship at Stampen Media.

Support worker & youth mentor · social care & schools

I worked with adults fighting addiction and teenagers on their way into crime and drugs, and later at a school. I kept at it right up until the frontend program started. It taught me more about communication than anything since.

Digital Content Design · degree

My first taste of design and code. Content design, UX and enough development to get curious. It took a few more years before I acted on it.
